In June of 2022, Sherman County was officially accepted as a “Communities for
Kids” community. With that acceptance, our project was awarded $52,000 in grant contracts to propel our project through the planning phase and support our local child care providers with grants.

Future Services

The current building will have the potential capacity of 25-30 children, which is more than double of what is available for licensed slots currently. Phase 2 would further allow the capacity to double to around 60 children.

The Center would provide care for children ages 0-5. Anticipated hours of operation are from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM from Monday-Friday, but may be adjusted based off of need at pre-registration time.  Age groups would also be dependent upon pre-registration numbers and worked into a steady, sustainable capacity.

Sherman County Sprouts, Inc. is working with Lund Company of Omaha, NE for project management and advisory services; as well as Wilkins Architecture Design Planning of Kearney, NE) for the layout, design, and renovation execution.
